TitleLetter from Arch [Archibald] Geikie, the Royal Society, Burlington House, London, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorGeikie; Sir Archibald (1835-1924); British geologist and historian
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date28 August 1912
DescriptionHe has found Larmor's letter and paper which he will read and mark. He thinks that A.P. [Arthur Pilemon] Coleman could represent the Royal Society at the Texas Institute. He would rather not have a U.S citizen, but Coleman Brown of Yale might do. He does not wonder that 'Prince Galitzin' is concerned about Eskdalemuir, which gives Geikie 'grief and anxiety'. They should consider the matter and try to have the observatory carried on satisfactorily. Geikie was delighted to hear of Larmor's proposed trip to the Canaries. He and Lucy will travel to Scotland, meaning to attend the British Association meeting at Dundee, supporting [Benjamin Neave] Peach, and then to Ardkinglas.
