Title | Letter from William Huggins, 90 Upper Tulse Hill, S W [South West] London, to the Secretary [Joseph Larmor] |
Creator | Huggins; Sir William (1824-1910); British astronomer |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 17 August 1905 |
Description | Huggins thanks Larmor for his suggestions. Huggins is looking over his plates, including at one of a spectrum that he had previously overlooked, which is important to demonstrate the behaviour of the Ra [radium]. He then shares his opinions on [George Howard] Darwin's address, and asks himself 'will the verdict be pretentious, or magnificent?'. He ends by mentioning that he has been 'led wrong by L in his meteoric speculations'. |
