Title | Letter from Alex [Alexander] Larmor, Academical Institution, Londonderry, to Joseph [Larmor] |
Creator | Larmor; Alexander (d.1936); Irish mathematician and science educator |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 9 March 1896 |
Description | He encloses various share certificates, which he lists, apologising for the delay. The Amalgamation Bill has passed the second reading and he thinks the Governors are keeping him in the dark about their proceedings. He will soon have to enquire about his prospects. They have failed to provide any bargain or compensation for their masters within the Bill, noting the financial situations at other colleges. Allison begins duty at Campbell College and Alexander has found Moyles, an excellent man, to be his successor. He thinks that Joseph would stand a good chance of getting the Presidency of Q.C.G. [Queen's College Galway] but there would be no security of tenure. |
