Title | Letter from J [John] Joly, Geological Laboratory, T C D [Trinity College Dublin], to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Joly; John (1857-1933); Irish geologist and physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 4 August 1904 |
Description | He wonders if there would be any movement among Fellows of the Royal Society to publish a selection of the papers of Johnston Storey. It is the ambition of the esteemed man to have it done. The cost would be £300-£400 and Storey would edit himself. It is possible that Dublin University would make a contribution and issue it via the University Press. Taylor & Francis would do it cheaply. Joly does not want to proceed unless success would be certain, as 'we are all driven mad by collections'. He asks for Larmor's views. |
