Title | Letter from O J L [Oliver Joseph Lodge], 2 Grove Park, Liverpool, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Lodge; Sir Oliver Joseph (1851-1940); British physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 8 December 1893 |
Description | He poses some queries for Larmor: on whether spinning an iron bar or an iron anchor ring on its axis will magnetise it; and on modification of the law of reflexion. He read the abstract on the train and was fascinated by it. He is not clear about the forces on slip 7. In a postscript, Lodge writes that 'I am cogitating a much severer test of that magnetic flow business'. |
