| Description | He thanks Larmor for his interesting letter. He mentioned Larmor's two volumes during his talk at the Institute of Metals. He thanks Larmor for directing him to the special appendices, and he hopes that the supplementary volume will come out. Their subjects are highly important and every detail can be subject to expansion, which must happen if they are to be assimilated. The time may not be right for a literary treatment 'when so much is in the melting pot'. But he is thankful that Larmor's treatise if available to posterity, so that what is anticipated in his early work, even in barely intellible form, can be seen 'much of what are considered to be the modern developments'. |
