Title | Letter from Horace Lamb, Medindee, Burton Road, Didsbury, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Lamb; Sir Horace (1849-1934); British mathematician |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 26 January 1891 |
Description | He has got through the first 100 candidates for matriculation and he does not expect much difficulty in making final determinations. He has not heard from Bryant about U.C.C., but thinks that Milman has responsibity for his employment. [Bryant] is a fidgety person, but does the elementary work well. He has received one or two appeals from 'damsels' asking for mercy and he wonders if Larmor has similar experiences. Lamb cannot decide on the proper thing to do, burn them or report them to the Registrar. He has heard from the Philosophical Magazine, who say they have lost his paper. |
