Title | Letter from H M [Hector Munro] Macdonald, 52 College Bounds, Old Aberdeen, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Macdonald; Hector Munro (1865-1935); British mathematician |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 1 September 1908 |
Description | He apologises for the delay in forwarding the enclosure [not present] but while in Switzerland he could not compose the note and he had no way to verify certain facts. His note should make everything clear. He was sorry, but not surprised, to hear of the death of Larmor's Master [of St. John's College, Charles Taylor] and he notes the new appointment [of Robert Forsyth Scott]. Macdonald is starting for Dublin that afternoon and looks forward to seeing Larmor there [at the British Association meeting]. He describes the weather in Switzerland and his holiday experiences there. He fears he will have a rough crossing that evening. |
