Title | Letter from Edward W [Williams] Morley, Adelbert College, Cleveland, Ohio, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Morley; Edward Williams (1838-1923); American physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 10 October 1904 |
Description | When he wrote about the results of his experiments, he was 500 miles away from his books and papers and distant from other libraries. He could not recall Lamror's address and sent it to the Royal Society. As Larmor observed, it was not intended as a public announcement. Larmor said he would write again after some thought. That would be of service to Morley in writing his account. The effect found is not more than 0.014 wave lengths. |
