| Title | Letter from Herbert McLeod, the Royal Society, Burlington House, London, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | McLeod; Herbert (1841-1923); British chemist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 7 October 1911 |
| Description | It was bad luck that Larmor called on Wednesday, as McLeod has to take his son to King's College to begin as a medical student. McLeod caught a cold and has been in bed with a temperature. The two youngest juniors were told that their services might not be required later than Christmas. They have been looking out for other work; one has left and the other has given notice and McLeod notes how he will make up the shortfall in work. He will want Larmor's help in devising a paragraph [on the Catalogue of Scientific Papers] for the Council Report. They have several slips on perception of musical sounds and related topics, and he asks Larmor where these should belong. |
