| Description | 'It is curious to see how much the way in which a subject is approached influences the order in which the phenomena are appreciated'. He wondered if the part about cones was too obvious to mention. The point of the latter part of his paper was to suggest the possible folds of a flexible and inextensible plane surface can be derived from the various series of conical folds into which the plane can be bent, partly inverted if required. Change of area occurs chiefly towards the head of the fold. |
