Title | Letter from Robert T Martin, 7 Wellington Place, Belfast, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Martin; Robert T (fl.1880s-1910s); Irish academic |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 18 September 1908 |
Description | He regrets that they will not have the pleasure of a visit from Larmor in November and that it is not possible for him to attend Senate. He hopes that Larmor will manage early subsequent meetings before it begins operations. It is 'the misfortune of Ireland' that any educational solution cannot be disassociated from political considerations and Martin discusses the situation at length, with regard to Queen's College Belfast and the late Parliamentary Bill. He hopes that Larmor, as an old student who has risen to eminence, will give his sympathy and co-operation to the university which is so proud of him. |
