TitleLetter from H M [Hector Munro] Macdonald, 52 College Bounds, Old Aberdeen, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorMacdonald; Hector Munro (1865-1935); British mathematician
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date7 November 1907
DescriptionHe has struggled with the document which Larmor gave him [presumably paper 'The diurnal variation of terrestrial magnetism' by Arthur Schuster]. He thinks it very undigested by the author and hopes to let Larmor have it back next week. The 'physiology man here' [Arthur Robertson Cushny?] has asked what is the most delicate telephone receiver on the market, as he wishes to detect feeble muscular and nervous electric currents. He also wishes to know if small vibrations from such currents can be visualised. Mrs Niven has asked him to convey remembrances to Larmor. He hopes to see Larmor next Thursday if he can tear himself away from the Royal Society.
