Title | Letter from Charles E S [Edmund Stanley] Phillips, Castle House, Shooter's Hill, Kent, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Phillips; Charles Edmund Stanley Phillips (1871-1945); British physicist and radiologist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 12 March 1909 |
Description | On evidence that the 'green patches' are due to jets of gas, Phillips sets out a list of facts relating to the exhausting of x-ray bulbs and the role of their electrodes. He is indebted to Larmor for his criticism of the paper and sees that he must elbaborate on the part of the paper relating to jets of gas. If there are any doubts in Larmor's mind, he asks that the paper is allowed to 'stand over' and requests permission to enlarge it. |
