Description	He has looked at [Louis Georges] Gouy's paper and he thinks he sees where the fallacy is, although it is hard to be sure without complicated calculation. He describes Gouy's position on the partial separation of ions of opposite charge based upon gravity and a horizontal magnetic field, resulting in precessional drift. Since the difficulty is introduced by gravitation, the explanation must also be given by it, he believes. He offers an expanation, based upon ions moving to the right being more prone to collision. He finds one point puzzling, in the lower parts of the path the ion has higher velocity which results in an effect in the wrong direction, but he thinks this must disappear. He thinks it must be possible to construct a proof without assuming that molecules are hard spheres 'or anything else'.
