| Description | Sandwich asks if Folkes has procured the Egyptian medals from customs for him, since applying to Mr Swinney for their release. He ask for Folkes' opinion of their value so he can advise his contact in Egypt whether to procure similar 'curiosites that may fall in his way'. Regarding the experiment he recounted about the toad in an air pump expelling maggots, clarifies that it was carried out by Mr Spencer at Allthorpe and described to him by Spencer and other eyewitnesses including a Mr Loftin. Sandwich plans to be in London in November for the meeting of Parliament, where he hopes to see Folkes as also throughout the winter when he may take the liberty to trouble him. Endorsed on p.4 which also contains some basic numerical calculations written in pencil. |
