Title | Letter from [Pierre Remond de] Montmort to [John Taylor]; dated at Paris |
Recipient | Taylor; John (1655-1729); MP for Sandwich, Kent; father or Brook Taylor FRS |
Date | 28 March 1717 |
Description | Wine requested by [Brook Taylor] will be sent to [John Taylor at Bifrons House]. Sending alongside a volume of hapsicord scores for Taylor's daughters. Praises [Brook Taylor], John Taylor's son, at length. Regrets to hear that Brook's health is not good, hopes the Spa waters will benefit his health, but suggests that French air is good for the English and that a stay on his land [Montmort] for 3 or 4 months will bring [Brook] back in perfect health. Suggests that a direct journey from Spa via Luxembourg would be quick and inexpensive.
Misdated in William Young FRS' hand at the back 28 Mars 1717 also misidentified as letter to Brook Taylor, John Taylor's son in the published "Contemplatio Philosophica". |
