TitleNotes on [George Cheyne, 'Philosophical principles of natural religion']
Date[14 February] 1714
DescriptionDated Ash Wednesday 1713/14.
Reading notes, corrects and criticises [George Cheyne, 'Philosophical principles of natural religion', 1705] on points of analysis and reasoning relating to motion; velocity, gravity and advises that the last chapter on infinites, as does not relate to the rest of the volume, ought to be left out.
[Likely Cheyne requested Taylor's comments ahead of the 1715 edition, as passages marked as deficient or requiring clarifications by Taylor have been corrected in the 1715 second edition, which also separates out the last chapter into a distinctive Part II, and may therefore be the "Gentleman at Cambridge who conceals his name" mentioned in the introduction.]
