TitleLetter from Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond and Duke of Aubigny, Whitehall, to Martin Folkes
Date26 September 1732
DescriptionGiving an account of his broken leg, examined by [William] Cheselden. Richmond has left off his splints and has taken to crutches. He can move his leg but cannot yet put his full weight on it. He has acute pains in the shin bone, and some surgeons think this may be a splinter of bone, which if true, must come out; Cheselden thinks this is a split in the tibia. [Claudius] Amyand is sure that it is a simple inflamation and will be gone in days. The King arrived at Kensington and Lord Delamer in Whitehall, both in good health. He asks Folkes to join him at Goodwood where Richmnd intends to be in about a fortnight.
