| Description | Thanks Boys for the two balls of lead which have just arrived. There remains much to do and therefore several months may elapse before he can make gravity observations. Braun gives an account of his progress, including the receipt of a good mirror from Steinheil of Munich. He is indebted to Boys for his promise to make the quartz fibres. Notes how the fibres of Messrs E Hartmann of Frankfurt were packed and recommends the same approach to Boys, appending a drawing. Even so, one was broken by the finger of a customs officer. |
