Title | Letter from Carl Braun, Mariaschein, Bohemia, to Charles Vernon Boys |
Creator | Braun; Carl (1831-1907); German Jesuit astronomer |
Recipient | Boys; Sir Charles Vernon (1855-1944); British physicist and inventor |
Date | 10 July 1899 |
Description | He has received the letter from Boys dated 1 July and thanks Boys for his goodness. Boys's method of packing the quartz fibres on a mirror elicits advice from Braun on additional packing. He notes the diameter of fibres that would be preferable, but he is is no hurry to obtain them, as he intends to take a cure for several weeks. Braun comments on Boys's offer to bring the fibres personally; and the need for spares. The box should be addressed to Braun as Professor of Physics but should not be sent by the fastest post. |
