DescriptionView of the edge of the forest at Piruquina, showing signs of deforestation that was part of an effort to turn the area into a sheep farm. Eric Godley is shown sitting on one of the felled trees. Thickets of bamboo and other plants can be seen growing between the trees in the background, which made progress through the forest very difficult.
