Title | File of M S Bartlett containing correspondence with J Wishart and F P White |
Date | 1943-1991 |
Description | Correspondence within the file is regarding proposals of the Mathematics Faculty at Cambridge University during the Second World War, when Wishart and Bartlett were both away from Cambridge. The proposals are regarding the development of the faculty and its departments in connection with post-war needs. With an 'Institute of Mathematics' being established, Wishart believes that there should be a separate faculty of Statistics due to its relevance, not only for mathematics, but also for other faculties such as biology, economics and agriculture.
This file includes the original envelope that correspondence was kept in with Bartlett's notes about the correspondence attached. [It seems that the the correspondence has been lent to somebody in 1991]. |
