OtherInfo | Stearne was a royalist, which led to his dismissal as Master of Jesus College in 1641 and his later arrest in 1642. After being reinstated to his positions at the Restoration, Stearne maintained scholarly interests and was involved in the preparation of Brian Walton's Polyglot Bible. His work 'Summa logicae' was published posthumously in 1685. He was not particularly active in the day-to-day work of the Royal Society. |
