| Description | The President and Council have under consideration the desirability of undertaking a quinquennial census and hope the Government will take into consideration the desirability of making provision for taking an intermediate census in 1906.
They propose only the registration of the name, sex and age of the people enumerated. This would increase to a 'remarkable and much needed extent' the statistical value of the census and would be especially useful in bringing population statistics into line with those of other countries. The President and Council think a permanent census organization should be established. |
