Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Major Ronald Ross, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 17 February 1904 |
Description | Geikie informs Ross that the paper he submitted on blood-sucking maggots by Drs [Joseph Everett] Dutton, [John Lancelot] Todd & [Cuthbert] Christy has been considered, and his letters and documents submitted to the Chairman of the Sectional Committee, who sought advice. The consensus of opinion is to reject publication of the paper at this stage of the research, with further observation on the topic to be encouraged. Neither Geikie nor the Chairman therefore wish to accept the paper for reading, and so he asks if Ross wishes to withdraw the paper to allow the authors to investigate further, as at this stage it may be withdrawn without having been formally communicated to the Royal Society. |
