| Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir George Gabriel Stokes |
| Date | 6 June 1890 |
| Description | Professor Roberts-Austen has just been in to suggest Mr Wynnard Hooper, financial editor of 'The Times'. Rix notes that Austen was added to the Soirée sub-Committee as being a useful and 'indeed necessary' person, but as he is not a member of the Committee he has not had the useful privilege of inviting six couples and perhaps he ought to have it. |
