Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Alfred Bray Kempe, Treasurer of the Royal Society |
Date | 9 December 1910 |
Description | 1. Sending draft letter to [Alfred Cort] Haddon for him to sign [NLB/43/313].
2. Asks for permission to buy a Terrestrial Globe for the Library. All good scientific libraries have got one, and White has been urging Harrison on the subject for years, especially lately with all the Antarctic work in hand. A comparatively cheap one in Berlin £3.15.
3. Harrison has come to the conclusion that the best apparatus for suspending certificates is a vertical file arranged as a wooden stand on legs with the certificate attached to a stiff back and placed on edge like a big card catalogue. An estimate for this is also £3.15, but some modifications might be needed, so requests authorisation not to spend more than £5. |
