Title | Diagrams, experimental results by John Hopkinson |
Date | 14 February 1889 |
Description | Four pages of graphs, labelled curve I-IV, indicating the results of Hopkinson's investigations into the magnetisation of iron at high temperatures. The graphs show curves which, as Hopkinson states in the accompanying paper, 'illustrate what has long been known, that the rise of temperature causes increase of induction if the magnetising force is small, but dimunition of induction if the force is great.'
Subject: Magnetism / Metallurgy
Prints of these graphs were published in volume 45 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society alongside the paper 'Magnetisation of iron at high temperatures. (Preliminary notice.)'. |
