Title | Referee's report by Charles Vernon Boys, on a paper 'An electrical measuring machine for engineering gauges & other bodies' by P E Shaw |
Date | December 1905 |
Description | Sectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry
Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. He thinks the design of Plate 1 is essentially faulty and sees no reason for describing it at any length. All the illustrations but plate I should be reproduced. He objects in general to results being shown by both tables and a curve. Either should be sufficient. In the present instance the results are so good that the author may wish to use both methods to illustrate the removal of periodic error and if he wishes, Boys would agree to both remaining.
