Title | Letter from [Vernon Herbert Blackman], 17 Berkeley Place, to Sir Charles V [Vernon] Boys, St Marybourne, Andover, Hants. |
Creator | Blackman; Vernon Herbert (1872-1967); British cytologist and plant physiologist |
Recipient | Boys; Sir Charles Vernon (1855-1944); British physicist and inventor |
Date | 16 January 1940 |
Description | At the last meeting of the Royal Society Club he informed members of Boys' inability to attend during the blackout, and probably for all future dinners. The news was greeted with regret and the feeling was that dinners would not be the same without him. He hopes that Boys' expectation is false, and they would not in any event remove his name from the membership list. |
