Title | Letter from William Bowman, Joldwynds, Dorking, to Robert H [Henry] Scott and [John Whitaker] Hulke |
Creator | Bowman; Sir William; first baronet (1816-1892); British ophthalmic surgeon and anatomist |
Recipient | Scott; Robert Henry (1833-1916); Irish meteorologist |
Hulke; John Whitaker (1830-1895); British geologist |
Date | 9 February 1892 |
Description | He has just been writing to Judd. Bowman believes that for a satisfactory result [merging the Philosophical Club and Royal Society Club], strongly felt opinions should be available to the Joint Committee before it makes a decision. These can only be collected at the dinners, as circulating questions seems too rigid. The joint Committee might be empowered to arrange a programme for the year 1892-3 and to deal with the rules of each Club. There would be no final commitment on behalf of each Club in this. |
