| Description | The rules of the Royal Society Club state that meetings should be held on days appointed at the Anniversary Meeting, and always on the meeting days of the Royal Society. But if there is no meeting he thinks there ought not to be a dinner. It would be better to close until meetings resume. Until normal train service is resumed [because of the General Strike], it is not practicable for him to get home afterwards and [William Bate] Hardy may be in the same predicament. [Charles Vernon] Boys might be able to help, but Lamplugh thinks that dinners should be suspended. |
