DescriptionList of candidates for election to the Royal Society Club, arranged by date, with proposers, and dates of election and admission for successful candidates. The list commences with the proposal of General John Carnac, by Neville Maskelyne (9 December 1773), and concludes with the proposal of William Herschel, by William Watson (2 December 1784). A note against the name of William Hunter states that he 'died before his turn for being ballotted for'.

Endorsed verso: 'List of Candidates from 1780 to 28 July 1785 [referring to their dates of election, rather than dates proposed]. With dates of their election'.
