| Description | Has been in contact with Dr A S Dunbar at Lockheed regarding an alternative for the Arecibo feed. Dr Dunbar had no suggestion as to how they could overcome the difficulty they were experiencing with the feed but 'his general notion was of a hybrid feed, partly a transverse array and partly a waveguide line feed'. This is seen as 'a very favourable arrangement' but 'for our present problems, however, a waveguide section is still involved and that same problem still has to be solved'. Gold has not yet come any other solution other than Rumsey's proposal that would solve the issue. |
