DescriptionFinancial transactions of the Royal Society grouped by activity or fund. Groups are arranged alphabetically within the volume with an index at the front.

Transactions covered are divided as follows with a debit and credit list and balance provided for each:
'Admission fees account' giving total balance and payments by individual Fellows listed by name.
'Annual contributions' listing cash payments in and out annually.
'Advertising Account' listing payments and balance. Payments are all for meeting notices printed by Harrison & Sons.
'Books for the Library' listing payments to publishers, boksellers and binders, titles purchased are not listed.
'Buchann Medal Fund' listing gold for medal, engraving, tax, dividiend and interest.
'Brady Library Account' listing bequests, deposits, interest and tax
'Catalogue of Scientific Papers' listing payments to printers, income from sales, interest and payments to named individuals (contributots/compilers of the catalogue)
'Carrington Donation'
'Coal and Lighting etc' mainly payments to the 'Gaslight Company' and 'Helmore' for coal
'Coral Boring Committee' p53
'Challenger Report Account' p54
'Compositions Account' listing payments by Fellows who have paid their membership as a compound fee rather than annually p55-56
'Clour-vision Committee Fund' p57
'Eclipse Expedition' listing names attached to payments, only occassionally is the purpose of the payment is identified e.g. freight and insurance refunded to President p58
'Engaving & Lithography' listing name sof individual or companies paid but not details of the service or goods provided beyond the occassional notation identifying it as drawing, engraving or lithography pp59-67 and p250


Volume includes a large number of blank pages between each grouping of expenses.
Volume has been paginated with one number per double spread.
