Title | Letter from William Crookes, 7 Kensington Park Gardens, London, W., to [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton |
Creator | Crookes; William (1832-1919); British chemist |
Date | 14 February 1908 |
Description | Will be glad to see Swinton's battery when he completes the work he is currently occupied with. Particularly interested in the phosphorescence of alumina. He has maintained that the red phosphorescence of alumina was due to the alumina itself but on the continent it is attributed to a trace of chromium. Explains he gave reasons why chromium could not be present in a paper before the Royal Society. |
