TitleLetter from [Robert John] Strutt, Sunnyside, Cambridge, to [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton
CreatorStrutt; Robert John (1875 - 1947); 4th Baron Rayleigh
Datec. 1906
DescriptionApologises for his delayed response, explaining he wanted to to properly look up the reference for Swinton but was unable to get to thelibrary until now. The subject concerned appears to be based on chemical experiments, whereby he mentions work by R. S. Williams in 1901, and work that has been done since. Suggests that Swinton consults the Physikalische Zeitschrift. Also suggests attempting to absorb larger quantities of argon or helium, so as to see whether the absorbtion is a chemical effect or not. Advises Swinton will find details of how to manipulate these gases in Travers' "Study of Gases".

The letter is undated and is labelled 'Saturday'. Based on other letters from Strutt in Royal Society collections, we estimate it might have been written around 1906.
