Description | In relation to the Caledonian Power Scheme, stating there is a point in the evidence he finds of great importance. The Chairman took down a note, on Swinton's evidence, that large machines in the power stations were "experimental". States they are not experimental any more than the Deutschland or the Celtic are "experimental" as ships. They are bigger than any yet built. Highlights that at Berlin they are now going to supply from an outside station with steam power. Compares this to St Petersburg and New York. Believes that Swinborne ought to be asked to give evidence on this very question in what sense the thing is "experimental", emphasising his thinking that the Committee misunderstood Swinton. |
