Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to Alice [Swinton] |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 3 October 1927 |
Description | Responding to her previous letter regarding the loudspeaker, explaining the reason behind the rattling noise she has experienced is due to the diaphragm striking the pole pieces. Explains the function of the screw on the cover of the diaphragm which screws on to the end of the horn, is a set screw to prevent it turning when once put into proper position, further explaining the function of screw "B". Suggests adjusting when some loud music is on and comments that he does not think that the whistling she mentions relates to the adjustment of the loud-speaker, but rather the amplifier. |
