TitleLetter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to Professor W. C. Clinton
CreatorSwinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer
Date8 November 1927
DescriptionAcknowledges receipt of a previous letter, which he encloses [enclosure not present]. Suggests it is best to leave out the words "which is the gift of Mr. Campbell Swinton” and wishes to alter the word "replica" used in two places, as he now finds that the word amongst artists is usually considered to mean a copy made by the original artist himself, which is not the case in this instance. Informs he has been in communication with Mr Mordy on the subject, who agrees. The preferred word would be "copy".
