Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to George [Sitwell Campbell Swinton] |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 8 December 1927 |
Description | Acknowledges receipt of a previous letter. Comments that he personally does not believe in dowsing at all but that it would be good to have official experiments to dispel the fallacy but that it is difficult to get those in charge of the National Physical Laboratory to do anything about the matter. Interested to hear what George has to say on the Froissart. Asks if George has read William Sitwell's new book on The Border. Encloses a cutting from the previous night's Evening News about the Thames bridges as well as a copy of a letter he is delivering, for interest [enclosures not present]. Believes that Lord Askwith will not be pleased but that in his position ought to set a good example. |
