Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to The [Reverend] H. M. Lamont, The Manse, Coldingham, Berwickshire |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 30 April 1928 |
Description | Acknowledges receipt of a previous letter, which arrived after having been sent to the wrong number of the Square. Informs he has already received a letter from Mr. Macdonald, to whom he replied last Friday. Interested to hear about Lamont's son and is willing to give any advice he can. In his letter to Macdonald he suggested the Heston Works of Messrs. C. A. Parsons & Co (Sir Charles Parsons' firm), as a suitable place for his son, but as has been in touch with the British Thomson Houston Co at Rugby, believes this might be even better than Parsons', as the latter carry on a wider business and deal with more classes of electrical manufacturers. Happy to give more advice whenever needed. |
