Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to [Harold Langton Tyson] Wolfe |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 9 May 1928 |
Description | Acknowledges receipt of a previous letter. Interested to hear that Wolfe is a shareholder in the Baird Television Company, stating he has followed Baird's patents and the development of this company closely, and is sure that the price at which their shares are quoted has no real reference to the intrinsic value of the business. Comments there is nothing new in the patents, and the results that he has achieved are so far of no commercial importance, doubting the development of anything useful on his methods. Adds that what has been done in America is far superior to anything Baird has done. Mentions he asked Dr Petavel to send Wolfe an invitation to the National Physical Laboratory. |
