Title | Letter from Sir L. B Atkinson, Sardinia House, Sardinia Street, Kingsway, London, W. C. 2., to [Alan Archibald] Campbell Swinton, [Esquire]., 40 Chester Square, S. W. 1. |
Date | 16 November 1928 |
Description | Notifies Swinton of having informed the President of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, that Mr Garcke has undertaken to provide a portrait of Ampere, as has Sir Tom Callender. Informs that he suggested that portraits of John Hopkinson and Graham Bell are desired by the Council. Updating Swinton as the President was under the impression that Swinton was to approach Parsons. Believes it is likely that Sir Tom Callender will select Hopkinson, the inventor of the three wire system of distribution. |
