Title | Letter from [Frederick Hugh] Sykes, Chairman, Broadcasting Board, 14 Egerton Gardens, S. W. 3., to Mr [Alan Archibald] Campbell Swinton |
Creator | Sykes; Sir; Frederick Hugh (1877-1954); Chairman, Broadcasting Board |
Date | 9 November 1926 |
Description | Encloses a copy of a letter he sent to Sir [William] Mitchell Thomson, Postmaster General in reference to the Broadcasting Board. Explains that on publication of the Crawford Report, he in capacity as Chairman suggested that the Board be terminated. As the Postmaster General is due to issue a statement in the House of Commons on the broadcasting organisation proposed to bring into effect, and as he will not refer the Crawford recommendations to them, the Board believe their immediate resignation will be welcomed. |
