The volume is prefaced with a copy of the Swinton Memorial Service, held at St. Michael's, Chester Square, London.

The second half of the volume contains letters either addressed to Swinton shortly prior to his death or to Mr A. W. Langley and Major Alan [Henry] Campbell Swinton, sending condolences. Correspondents include Otto Glasser; Llewellyn [Birchall] Atkinson; Electricity Corporation, Limited; Sir Montague Hughman; The Institute of Physics; The Institution of Civil Engineers; The Institution of Mechanical Engineers; The Science Museum; The Physical Society; Arthur Sitwell; James P. M. Stanton; Evelyn H. R. Trenow; R. J. Walker; Bath Electric Tramways, Limited; as well as letters from lawyers in reference to legacies given to Robert Houstoun, his son, and Alan Ness; and payment of Swinton's Super Tax.
