TitleNote on reason for Council Meeting in two sections, and procedures to be followed
Date14 February 1946
DescriptionCouncil will hold a preliminary meeting in two sections, biological and physical, on 11.30 am on Thursday 14 February 1946, for consideration of the claims of candidates for the Fellowship.

A buffet lunch is being provided at 1.15 pm. Please note that the time of the afternoon meeting is 2.30 pm
NOTE:
Each meeting of half Council has three functions;
(a) The first is to consider the whole list of straight A or B candidates suggested by the Sectional Committees, and to select preferred names form this list
(b) The second is to reconsider the borderline candidates (already selected by the Committee of Council) in relation to the straight A or B candidates, more particularly to those 2nd or 3rd on the Sectional Committees lists.
(c) The third is to reconsider the straight A or B selected candidates in relation to the unselected borderline A or B candidates, so that the merits of the unselected borderline candidates may be weighed against the selected straight candidates.

Each half Council might also have an extra candidate's name in view, so that when full Council meets the standard of selection can be adjusted between the suggestions of the two halves of the Council.
