i. Archives
a. Permisison was granted to Dr D Merriman to consult the archives of the Society for the years 1660 to 1882 in connexion with a biographical research on Sir Charles Wyvillt Thomson (FRS 1869), scientific leader of the Challenger expedition, subject to the usual acknowledgments being made upon publication.
b. Permisison was granted to the Newcomen Society to publish a complete catalogue of the drawings of John Smeaton (FRS 1753), contained in the Society's archives, subject to the usual acknowledgments being made upon publication.
c. Permision was graned to Professor W J Bell to reproduce certain manuscript letters in the Society's archives relating to American science and scientists of the eighteenth century for the purpose of a biography he was writing of John Morgan (FRS 1765), subject to the usual acknowledgments being made upon publication.
