Title | Letter from J Mendoza y Rios, Brighton to Charles Blagden, Paris |
Date | 5 January 1815 |
Description | Was going to send Admiral Espinosa but he keeps delaying his departure. Thanks Blagden for answering his queries. Will go to Paris to devote a year to the education of his daughter. Does not expect that Blagden will still be in Paris by the time he gets there. Discusses his plans to do calculations at Paris, it is not possible to earn enough doing this in London. Commissioners of Longitude have awarded him £1200. Thanks his friends for their support, particularly Sir Joseph Banks. Sends his respects to Count Delaplace. |
